Jim Lewis

Rev. James M. (Jim) Lewis was born in Sussex, N. B. and graduated from Sussex High School in 1952. Jim’s 48 plus years of marriage to Ferne Nickerson have blessed them with a son, Roger and a daughter, Carol Joy and four grandchildren.
Before entering full-time ministry in 1966, Jim worked in Sharp’s Drug Store, Shier Silk Hosiery and Kings County Memorial Hospital in Sussex and Irving Pulp and Paper in Saint John. He was Bleachery Operator when he left to respond to God’s Call to the Ministry.
Pastorates served include Woodstock, Hoyt, Nackawic and Fredericton. He has been in various areas of ministry in the Fredericton area since 1975, and recently retired at age 70 as the Care Pastor from the Pastoral Team at Smythe St. Cathedral.
Some of the Boards on which Jim served: John Howard, Fredericton Emergency Shelter, Youth in Transition and Fredericton Crisis Pregnancy Centre. Jim was also Administrator of the Fredericton Emergency Shelter for 7 years. He has been associated with the Women Aglow Fellowship (Fredericton Local, then the N.B, /P.E.I. Area Board) since its beginnings in N B.
Jim’s most observed Spiritual Gift is Mercy and has a caring heart for people hurting in any area of their lives. Jim and his wife Ferne have were married in September of 1955 and have resided in Rusagonis for since 1978. |
